Piezometer

Piezometer, or pore pressure meter, measures water pressure in soil, rock fills, foundations, and concrete structures. It provides key data on the magnitude, distribution, and variation of pore pressure over time. This geotechnical sensor helps assess seepage patterns, identify potential piping zones, and evaluate the effectiveness of control measures. Additionally, it measures water levels in reservoirs, wells, and boreholes.

Description:

The VW Piezometer features a vibrating wire sensor housed in a durable steel casing. The sensor consists of a steel wire secured at both ends of a hollow cylinder, with an electromagnetic coil used to excite and measure its vibration period. This period directly correlates to the applied pressure.
Built for long-term reliability, the VW Piezometer utilizes advanced vibrating wire technology, including hydraulic swaging for wire stability. The sensor is hermetically sealed to protect against corrosion, and all components, except the wire, are made from high-grade stainless steel. It also includes a surge protector and resists electrical and radio frequency interference, and a temperature device for compensating for temperature variations.

Key Features:
  • Long-term Reliability: Engineered for continuous, long-term performance in demanding environments, ensuring stable data over extended monitoring periods.
  • High Accuracy and Resolution: Delivers precise pore pressure measurements with high resolution, capable of detecting minute changes in pressure critical for structural monitoring.
  • Wide Measuring Range: Capable of measuring a wide range of pore pressures, from very low to high, making it versatile for various geotechnical applications.
  • Rugged Stainless Steel Construction: Manufactured with corrosion-resistant stainless steel, providing robust protection against harsh environmental factors.
  • Surge Protection: Designed with electrical surge protection to prevent damage from lightning or electrical transients, ensuring durability in exposed environments.
  • Triple Stage Water Blocking: Equipped with a three-stage water blocking mechanism to prevent water ingress, maintaining sensor accuracy over time.
  • Temperature Reading: Includes an integrated temperature sensor to enable compensation for temperature variations, ensuring consistent and accurate readings.
  • Cost-Effectiveness: Affordable and cost-efficient, offering a high return on investment while maintaining performance and reliability across a range of geotechnical applications
